Ortho-Bionomy® - Back and Joint Pain Relief

Ortho-Bionomy developed out of Osteopathy in the mid 1970's

Your body is an intelligent system, when there is a dysfunction your body/mind needs more information about the dysfunction in order to self-correct. Therefore in Ortho-Bionomy we work with the nervous system to release muscles,realign bones and create more stability at the joints.

The body has the amazing ability to self correct, let me give you an example - That muscle spasm that you wish would disappear is your bodies solution to a misalignment or unstable joint. With Ortho-Bionomy we stabilise the joint and fine tune the alignment and this allows the body to turn off the muscle spasm.

Ortho-Bionomy is gentle as the nervous system is sensitive so there is no risk of injury and no forced manipulations or painful techniques are used, we don't need them to assist the body to change.

When painful techniques are used the body responsed to the pain by trying to protect itself from further harm by bracing with muscles, this reduces the likelihood of the system changing and more force is needed to overcome this protective mechanism. When the body feels safe the protective mechanism is not engaged and the body changes quicker.

Ortho-Bionomy also works on the relationship between suppressed emotion and the physical body, if you have ever experienced grief, stress or heartbreak you will know how powerful emotions can be and how the body function changes when strong emotions are happening in your life. When we suppress emotions or are traumatised these functional changes can become stuck. With the Ortho-Bionomy approach we release the body and the emotions release by themselves. There is no need to discuss the situation or trauma in order to have it released.

Ortho-Bionomy has been found to help conditions such as;

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck & Shoulder pain

Ortho-Bionomy is also great for increasing the preformance of athletes. Releasing tension and realigning the skeletal structure can help improve efficiency of movements and reduce the risk of injury. Ortho-Bionomy increases the length of the gait, the range of movement and the stability of the joints.

"I had been putting up with some nerve pain in my back & hip from a training accident for a few months before trying Ortho-Bionomy. After only a couple of appointments with Rob my body was back in its natural position and my running and recovery time had improve dramatically.  I would highly recommend this treatment for both injuries & greater health."

"I dislocated my shoulder and 6 months later it still hadn't healed. I looked for alternatives to surgery and after one session with Rob I was amazed at how much it improved. I had much more movement and less pain. The exercises he gave me seem to have helped dramatically. My only problem is that we live too far away to have more sessions! I have no hesitation in recommending him."

"Upon receiving treatment  during a Volleyball tournament I had immediate relief of some of my shoulder pain. The exercises helped my shoulder to sit in a stronger position thus reducing my pain. I would have like to have had the opportunity to do more sessions with Rob and to have had the treatment outside of a tournament to be able to see the real potential of this treatment without the impact of having to play a tournament at the same time. I would recommend that people are open to this type of treatment for relief of their pain.

It has now been around 10 months since receiving treatment from Rob and my shoulder has still zero pain. It truly is an amazing, gentle, relaxing treatment that Rob practices and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
He has truly changed my life. Thanks Rob.
